Camping and Overnights
Our Pack hosts two campouts and an overnight trip every year.
Campouts are typically held at one of the group camping sites at the Kensington Metropark.
We also host an annual overnight that rotates venues every year. Some past examples:
What equipment should you have?
This quick reference guide will give you an idea of what equipment would be useful to bring to a campout or overnight.

Essentials
Tent (inexpensive, large, family tents are best at this age). Families will tent together.
Sleeping bags
Sleeping pad / air mattress
Pillow
Flashlight/headlamp
Toiletries
Toothpaste, toothbrush, hair brush/comb, soap and towel. We are typically never away long enough to worry about showers.
Personal medication
Food/Hydration
Water bottle filled with water at home. There will be water at campsites but most people prefer at least to start on home water.
Reusable food utensils, plates and cups
Other items
Camp chair
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
Insect repellent (optional)
Footwear
Tennis shoes, hiking boots, or sturdy walking shoes
First aid kit
Clothing
Cub Scout uniform and Pack T-Shirt
Poncho or rain suit
Change of clothes in case of water or food accident
Long pants
Fleece or other warm top
Night clothes / sleepwear
